Big Stone Lake Area Chapter

Welcome to the Big Stone Lake Area Chapter of "Let's Go Fishing With Seniors."  We are located in Ortonville, Minnesota which is located on the southern tip of Big Stone Lake near the border of South Dakota.  Our population is 2,158 and we are the county seat of Big Stone County.

Through our "Let's Go Fishing" program we offer an opportunity for seniors to enjoy the pristine beauty of Big Stone Lake located on the prairie of western Minnesota.  We offer no cost fishing and boating excursions to the seniors of West Central Minnesota.  Our guests come from throughout the surrounding area and enjoy an outdoor adventure with us.  Residents of health care facilities use our services, along with many other senior groups and organizations.  We look forward to enriching the lives of our area seniors with these outdoor activities.

In addition to a "Let's Go Fishing"  outing, Ortonville offers the following amenities to its residents and visitors: the Ortonville Municipal Golf Course, King of the Trails Fall Marketplace, Oak Tree Classic Golf Tournament, Riverside Ride (Horseback Trail Rides), Lakeshore RV Park Inc, Big Stone Lake State Park, Annual Corn Festival, Rustling Elms Resort, Valley View Antiques, Big Stone Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Big Stone County Historical Museum, Sunrise Motel, Thielke Lake Wildlife Management Area, and a very popular couples golf tournament at the end of July.

Nearby attractractions include the Stony Run Lodge, the Big Stone County Fair, and the Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge.
