The History of Let's Go Fishing

Let's Go Fishing with seniors began in Willmar, Minnesota in 2002. Founder Joe Holm shared with his wife Carolyn, his dream to help enrich the lives of senior citizens. Joe wanted to create an organization that would provide fishing and boating outings to seniors at no cost. The first chapter was formed with the help of friends that shared his passion for helping people and loved the water.

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, generous donors and the vision and generosity of the State of Minnesota, LGF continues to expand its reach. We impact thousands of individuals each year and with the implementation of new programs we now serve Hospice patients (regardless of age), youth and veterans. Since our inception in 2002, the LGF program has served over 15,000 Minnesotans.
